MRI is today’s gold standard helping Veterinary Clinicians and Scientists to develop better treatment options. Over the last decade, advances in imaging software, improvements in imaging power, and the addition of new sequencing choices have made MRI one of the most powerful diagnostic tools in veterinary medicine.
Esaote, in its long term commitment to the Vet MRI application, is proud to organize the biannual Vet MRI conference, representing a forum for sharing and discussing the latest ideas and techniques in Vet MRI.
The program for the 9th Edition of “MRI in Veterinary Medicine” will encompass the two main application streams, small animals and equine, for which internationally recognized specialists with excellent educational skills will be showcasing their research and case studies. The rich scientific program is a blend of clinical science, technology and practical guidelines on the best techniques in order to improve your study protocols, optimize sequence parameters and patient positioning for a better workflow.
Esaote, has chosen a beautiful venue (Rosamarina resort) nearby Ostuni, one of the most stunning cities in southern Italy, a genuine and charming example of Mediterranean architecture.

Moreover you will be provided with practical guidelines on how to optimize sequence
parameters, position the patient and target the body structures to be studied with
the proper coil, in order to produce high resolution images to diagnose with pinpoint
accuracy.
This is not a sit and watch session, in fact to boost interaction, attendees will be
divided into groups for case lab and live sessions on the Vet MRI Grande system, for
a complete educational experience.
FOR THIS REASON THE HANDS-ON-TRAINING SESSION WILL BE
LIMITED TO A MAXIMUM OF 18 ATTENDEES
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Equine Practitioners are regularly confronted with poor performance-related questions, such as: My horse has started to make a noise during exercise and struggles to keep up with the other horses; what do you think is causing it? Do we need to investigate my horse’s reluctance to be ridden and problems with lateral work or do you think that this is a training-related issue? Evaluating horses for poor performance can be a daunting task because different conditions may present with similar clinical signs, leaving vets wondering where to start the investigation.
This 2-day practical course covers the most common causes of orthopedic and respiratory poor performance in sports horses, how to recognize them and to decide if they are clinically relevant. The topics of management of horses with back/sacroiliac pain, how to devise tailor-made rehabilitation programs for musculoskeletal conditions and physiotherapy of the horse with upper front- and hindlimb problems and back/sacroiliac conditions will be discussed. Indications and usefulness of chiropractic therapy, acupuncture and pulse, lactate and GPS tracking as training and rehabilitation tools will furthermore be reviewed.
The panel of internationally renowned specialists will present the following highly-illustrated lectures in the mornings:
In the afternoons, 7 hours of practical sessions will allow delegates to further their practical skills on live horses in small groups (3-5 delegates per endoscope) and to further discuss the above topics with the specialists. The following practical sessions will be supervised by the specialists during the course:
The course fee includes lunches at a restaurant, coffee/tea breaks, extensive course notes and a certificate of attendance. Delegates can choose to only attend the lectures (= Lectures Only) on this course or can register for the entire course (= Lectures & Practical Sessions). On the evening of the first day all delegates are invited to attend the course dinner, which costs $40 (not included in the registration fee; drinks will be charged extra). Early course registration is recommended as there are only a limited number of places available.
This course meets the requirement for 13 hours of Continuing Education in jurisdictions that recognize AAVSB’s RACE approval; however, participants should be aware that some boards have limitations on the number of hours accepted in certain categories and/or restrictions on certain methods of delivery of Continuing Education.

For the last decade Esaote has maintained its position as a worldwide market leader in Veterinary imaging and has continued to remain at the forefront of Veterinary education.
So far Esaote’s focus on education has been successfully channelled through five editions of “MRI in Veterinary Medicine” which has proven to be an excellent forum for educational and social exchange between professionals involved in veterinary medicine. The 6th edition of the meeting will be held for the first time outside of Europe, in Miami, USA. The choice of location this year was driven by our aim to further extend our international reach and to cater to the educational needs of the large community of U.S. based MRI users and clients that has grown over the years.
The scientific programme includes a wide range of topics from MRI physics to more clinical content. The scope is to give participants a sound understanding of best practice when executing MRI in Veterinary applications and appropriate tools for improving their diagnostic capabilities when addressing even more complex cases. Moreover, in line with tradition, the lectures will be delivered by expert speakers from Europe and the U.S.
In addition to appreciating the high quality of the program content, we hope that an attractive backdrop like Miami will also give participants the opportunity to combine work with a little pleasure.
